All of our cleaning supplies such as towels, mops and cleaning cloths are fresh and clean at the start of each job.

We also use and recommend Microfiber Cloths, Microfiber Dust Mops and Microfiber Mops.

It’s the purest clean you can get. Using microfiber towels and mop-heads can make the floors, walls, counters, sinks, shower stalls, tubs, toilets and other surfaces in your home sparkling clean and free of bacteria and germs. Microfiber is far denser than cotton cloth and paper products, so it can pick up more.

Vacuum cleaner

We have decided and opted to use a vacuum cleaner with HEPA- filter thecnology.

HEPA  is an acronym for ‘High Efficiency Particulate Arrestor’.

The HEPA filter was developed during World War II by the Atomic Energy Commission and it was designed to remove and capture radioactive dust particles from the air which might escape and present a health hazard to the researchers. The HEPA filter was specifically designed to protect the Human Respiratory System (nose, mouth, throat, lungs).

For a filter to be labeled “True” HEPA, it must be certified 99.97% efficient in capturing 0.3 micron (not 0.1 or 0.01 etc..) respirable-size-particles (RSP) according to the U.S. Military Standard MIL-STD-282, commonly known as the DOP test.  The reason 0.3 micron is used and no other is because 0.3 micron is the size at which all mechanical filters are LEAST efficient in capturing. Other methods of testing do not give a true picture of efficiencies relative to respirable-size-particle (RSP) capture.

Basically HEPA is a type of filter that can trap a large amount of very small particles that other vacuum cleaners would simply recirculate back into the air of your home and  can effectively control many contaminants, particularly microscopic ones under 10 microns in size.

Conventional vacuum cleaners pick up the larger particles of dirt so that the carpet looks clean. But the smaller particles - the ones that are more dangerous to lung tissue because they can penetrate deeper - are not retained by the vacuum cleaner’s filter. Instead, they are shot out in the exhaust air, aggravating allergies and redistributing dust, mold spores, lead dust, animal dander, etc., throughout the home. These tiny particulates that are recycled float around for hours before settling down. Anyone in the room is breathing them in.

HEPA filtration is the best solution to removing those allergens in your home. A Hoover HEPA filter vacuum cleaner traps 99,97% of common dust mites, pet allergens, and pollen from the air.

Particles below 10 microns are invisible to the human eye. The most common airborne particle size is 2.4 microns.
A conventional vacuum cleaner removes particulates down to about 35 microns or larger in size. From the chart below, you can see that dust mite feces, mold, pollen, bacteria and asbestos fibers would be spewed out the exhaust of an conventional vacuum cleaner.

Examples of some common air contaminants and their size in microns:

  • Human Hair ………………………………….. (70 - 100 microns)

  • Human Sneeze …………………………… (10 - 100 microns)

  • Pet Dander …………………………………… (0.5 - 100 microns)

  • Pollen …………………………………………… (5 - 100 microns)

  • Spores from Plants ………………………… (6 - 100 microns)

  • Mold……………………………………………… (2 - 20 microns)

  • Smoke …………………………………………… (.01 - 1 micron)

  • Dust Mite Debris …………………………… (0.5 - 50 microns)

  • Household Dust …………………………… (.05 - 100 microns)

  • Skin Flakes ……………………………………. (0.4 - 10 microns)

  • Bacteria…………………………………………. (0.35 - 10 microns

A true HEPA vacuum cleaner leaves room air cleaner than before you vacuumed - not like most vacuum cleaners which leave it dirtier!
